What are Channels?

Channels on Kixy serve as a dedicated space for businesses and sole traders to interact with their audience. Think of them as customisable hubs where conversations happen, payments are streamlined, and communities grow.

Key features of Channels:

1. Exclusive to Business and Sole Trader Accounts

  • Only business or sole trader accounts can create Channels

  • Personal accounts can join Channels but are restricted from creating them

2. One Channel per Business

  • Each business can have only one active Channel at a time, ensuring focused communication

3. Easy creation and sharing

  • Create a Channel by tapping New Chat > Create Channel

  • Copy and share your Channel link to invite other Kixy members to join

4. Appears within your Chats list

  • Once created, the Channel will appear on your Home Screen under the Chats section for quick access

Engage through messaging and media

Channels create a unified space for communication, collaboration, and transactions, making them ideal for:

  • Announcements, promotions, and event planning

  • Offering subscription-based services or collecting payments for goods (only available upon request and for Beta Testers)

  • Building a loyal community of engaged members

By combining powerful messaging tools with integrated payment options, Channels make it easier than ever to grow your business on Kixy.

Manage and customise your Channel

Running a Channel is simple and flexible:

  • Edit descriptions and add photos: Keep your Channel profile relevant and visually appealing

  • Member management: Add, remove, or manage Channel members to maintain an active and engaged community

  • Permanent deletion: If your Channel is no longer needed, you can delete it permanently

Joining or inviting someone to a Channel

Channel owners can help you join their Channel. Here's how:

  • Channel owners can share their Channel link. Once they have copied their link, they can send it to you in a Chat

  • Once you have received this link from the Channel owner, you can tap the link and become a member

Payments made simple

Channels also facilitate seamless financial interactions between owners and members.

  • The Channel owner activates a Pay Button on the Channel for easy payments

  • Members can manage or cancel subscriptions directly through the app

Member contributions

  • Members invited to join the Channel can conveniently make payments using Kixy Pay

Leaving or deleting a Channel

For members who no longer wish to participate:

For owners:

  • Deleting a Channel: Remember, deletion is permanent. Consider removing members and exporting important data before taking this step.
