Split Bills

Sharing expenses with friends, family, or colleagues? Kixy's Split Bill feature makes it easy to divide bills and keep track of who owes what. Whether you're splitting a restaurant bill, sharing household expenses, or dividing holiday costs, our Split Bill feature helps you manage your shared expenses effortlessly. Getting Started You can Split Bills in two ways: - In a one-to-one Chat with an individual contact - Within a Circle (a group of multiple people) Creating a New Split Bill 1. First, open either your one-to-one Chat or Circle where you want to split your bill or expense 2. Look for the Plus + icon next to where you type your messages and tap it 3. Select Split Bill from the menu options 4. Tap + Add Bill to begin splitting and expense Setting up the bill When adding a bill, you'll need to specify several important details: The Payer - At the top of the screen, select who initially paid the bill - For example, if Sarah paid for everyone's dinner at a restaurant with her card, select Sarah as the Payer - This helps Kixy calculate who owes money from whom Bill Details - Enter the total amount that needs to be split - Choose a category from the menu. For example, "Payment" - Add a description (e.g. "Saturday dinner at Wetherspoons") - Tap Continue when you've entered these details Choosing How to Split You have two options for splitting the bill: Equal Split - Divides the total amount equally between all participants - Perfect for shared meals or group activities where everyone owes the same amount Manual Split - Allows you to adjust how much each person owes - Useful when people ordered different items or should pay different amounts - Simply enter the specific amount each person needs to pay Managing The Split After setting up how the bill is split: 1. Review the split to ensure all amounts are correct 2. Tap Add to confirm You can now: - View Bill Details by tapping on the bill - See who the payer is and who owes money - Check individual amounts owed - Delete the bill if needed - Edit the bill to make adjustments Adding Multiple Bills Need to split more than one expense? Perhaps a taxi fare after your restaurant meal? You can: 1. Tap on the Plus + sign to add another bill 2. Follow the same steps as before for each additional expense 3. Kixy will automatically calculate the combined total Finalising The Split When you've added all bills: 1. Check the Total to Split is correct 2. Tap Continue 3. Review the summary page carefully 4. Tap Send Split Request when you're satisfied everything is correct What Happens Next After sending the split request: - A notification appears in your Chat or Circle - Everyone can see the total amount to be split - The amount left to pay is clearly displayed - Participants can easily track who has and hasn't paid their share Tips For Successful Splitting - Add bills promptly while everyone remembers the expenses - Use clear descriptions to help others recall what each bill is for - Double-check amounts before sending split requests - Use the Edit function if you notice any mistakes - Keep track of payments through the Bill Details screen 🧠 Remember, you can always view and manage your splits by returning to the Chat or Circle where you created them. This helps everyone stay informed and up-to-date with shared expenses

Contacts, Chats & Circles

These features will help you send money to a friend, split expenses with a group, or connect with new contacts Adding a New Contact Adding contacts on Kixy ensures smoother communication and faster transactions 1. Open The Contacts Section - Tap Kixy It! 2. Add a Contact - Tap New Contact - If they have a Kixy account, you can add them by Email, Phone Number, QR Code or Bank Account Details - If they are a non-Kixy user, you can add them only by Bank Account Details 3. Connect Instantly - Once you've added a Kixy contact, you can start chatting, sending money, or invite them to join your Circles - Contacts who are non-Kixy users are able to receive money from you. You can see the only option is to Send Money within their contact page Creating a Chat Chats in Kixy are private, one-on-one conversations with other Kixy users who you have added as a contact. This is where you can communicate and transfer money securely 1. Open The Contacts Section - Tap Kixy It! 2. Start a New Chat - Tap the Contact that you want to start a new Chat with - Tap Chat 3. Use Chat Features - Send money: By tapping the + you can Send Money - Request money: By tapping the + you can Request Money - Split money: By tapping the + you can Split Money - Send photos: Tap the Paperclip, select an image from your gallery or take one with your camera, and send it - Record voice notes: Press and hold the Microphone icon, record your voice note, and release to send it instantly 🧠 After creating your first Chat with a Contact, this will now be on the Home Screen of the Kixy app Creating a Circle Circles are perfect for managing shared expenses, planning events, or connecting with friends and family 1. Open The Contacts Section - Tap Kixy It! 2. Create a New Circle - Tap New Circle - Name your Circle and add a photo from your gallery or your camera - Select the members you would like to add to your Circle 3. Use Circle Features - Split money: By tapping the + you can Split Money - Send photos: Tap the Paperclip Icon, select an image from your gallery or take one with your camera, and send it - Record voice notes: Press and hold the Microphone icon, record your voice note, and release to send it instantly 4. Managing Your Circle - Tap the Circle name at the top of the chat window - You can add new members by tapping Add Members - You can remove existing members by long pressing their name and then tapping Remove - By tapping the Pencil Icon in the top right corner of the page, you have options to edit the name, the photo or delete your Circle 🧠 All Circles will now be on the Home Screen of the Kixy app

Key Features of Channels Exclusive to Business and Sole Trader Accounts - Only business or sole trader accounts can create Channels - Personal accounts can join Channels but are restricted from creating them One Channel Per Business - Each business can have only one active Channel at a time, ensuring focused communication Easy Creation and Sharing - Create a Channel by tapping New Chat > Create Channel - Copy and share your Channel link to invite other Kixy members to join Appears Within Your Chats List - Once created, the Channel will appear on your Home Screen under the Chats section for quick access Engage Through Messaging and Media Channels create a unified space for communication, collaboration, and transactions, making them ideal for: - Announcements, promotions, and event planning - Offering subscription-based services or collecting payments for goods (only available upon request and for Beta Testers) - Building a loyal community of engaged members By combining powerful messaging tools with integrated payment options, Channels make it easier than ever to grow your business on Kixy. Manage and Customise Your Channel Running a Channel is simple and flexible Edit Descriptions and Add Photos - Keep your Channel profile relevant and visually appealing Member Management - Add, remove, or manage Channel members to maintain an active and engaged community Permanent Deletion - If your Channel is no longer needed, you can delete it permanently Joining or Inviting Someone to a Channel Channel owners can help you join their Channel. Here's how: - Channel owners can share their Channel link. Once they have copied their link, they can send it to you in a Chat - Once you have received this link from the Channel owner, you can tap the link and become a member Payments Made Simple Channels also facilitate seamless financial interactions between owners and members Supported Currency - Channel payments are available in GBP (British Pound Sterling) only Kixy Pay - Members can contribute directly from their Kixy accounts - The Channel owner activates a Pay Button on the Channel for easy payments Subscriptions - Channel owners can set up subscription payments for goods or services - Members can manage or cancel subscriptions directly through the app Member Contributions - Members invited to join the Channel can conveniently make payments using Kixy Pay - Whether for goods, services, or subscriptions, Channels streamline the payment process for everyone involved Leaving or Deleting a Channel For Members Who No Longer Wish to Participate - Leave the Channel: Members can leave at any time - Delete membership: Members can remove themselves permanently from the Channel For Channel Owners - Deleting a Channel: Remember, deletion is permanent. Consider removing members and exporting important data before taking this step.
